Error messages installing the software or the computer "hangs up" (Windows 7 installation only):

  • Make sure you are using the latest software version BPM-202 ver. 3.1.2

  • BPM-202 uses the Microsoft Windows .net framework 1.1 to run. If this software is not installed or installed incorrectly BPM-202 will not install. Usually when the installation fails, the problem is with the .net framework 1.1. To resolve this issue try the following steps:

Step 1:

  • Open the CD and right click on "BPMSetup" file. In the menu select "troubleshoot compatability". Follow the instructions.

  • If this did not install the software correctly, go to step 2.

Step 2 if the above did not work:

  • Install the .net framework 1.1 file manually from the CD. It is located on the CD under /SupportFiles/dotNet1.1/English/dotnetfx.exe. If this installs correctly also install the service pack from the CD. Now run the BPM Setup again and it will install the software.

  • If the .net framework 1.1 installation fails. Install using the Windows Compatability Mode. To use this mode right click on the file (dotnetfx.exe) and choose "troubleshoot compatability", follow the instructions. There is also a video on the Microsoft Website that shows how it works. If this works, follow the same steps for the service pack. Once the .net is installed, install the BPM-202 Software. If this did not install the software correctly, go to step 3.

Step 3 if the above did not work:
Download the Microsoft components from the Microsoft website:

If this does not resolve the issue, contact Microsoft for more information on how to install Microsoft .net framework 1.1 on Windows 7.

Note: Please note that newer versions of the .net framework are not "upgrades" from version 1.1. Each framework is a separate program. If your computer has version 4 installed, you still have to install 1.1 for BPM to function. The installation of 1.1 will not affect other versions as this is a software by itself.
